Attune

See the shape of a conversation.

Attune takes a single recorded conversation and gives couples and clinicians a multimodal read of it — each partner's vocal arousal over time, the phases the conversation moved through, who interrupted when, and how tightly the two partners' states tracked each other. It turns a 40-minute argument into something you can actually see and talk about.

What it shows

01

Arousal & coupling

Each partner's vocal arousal across the whole conversation, plus a coupling line showing where the two rise and fall together — and where they split apart.

02

Turn-taking & repair

Who spoke, who interrupted whom and when, and each partner's repair attempts — the bids to de-escalate that keep a conflict from spiraling.

03

Indicator network

An animated network of clinically relevant indicators — watch which move together as the conversation shifts through repair, distress, and escalation.

Built by a clinician

Attune comes from a licensed clinical psychologist whose research is on emotion, fear, and connection. It's built from automated speech recognition, speaker diarization, lexical pattern analysis, and acoustic feature extraction — a descriptive aid for understanding how a couple actually interacts, not a diagnosis.

— Adam R. Cobb, Ph.D. · adamrcobbphd.com

Attune indexes interaction patterns and vocal arousal from a single session; the figures are exploratory descriptive indicators, not clinical diagnoses or risk assessments. Individual wellbeing and safety always take precedence over any interaction metric.
